5800h out of box activation issue - win 11 pro

  • Hi, out of box, this trigkey mini s5 5800h will not activate.

Microsoft states failed to activate due to hardware change?

Anyone shed some light on this?

I have left a chat message for Trigkey to respond to when they get to work, their hours etc.

    See what happens.

    Cheers J.

  • I asked Copilot AI

When I use ShowKeyPlus to find my Windows 11 Pro product key, the following show: Installed key: MAK key Not available, and for OEM Key: OEM key not present in firmware

It sounds like your Windows 11 Pro license might be linked to a digital license rather than a traditional product key. When a digital license is used, the product key isn't stored on your computer's firmware, which is why ShowKeyPlus isn't able to retrieve it1.

To confirm this, you can check your activation status in Windows Settings:

    1. Open Settings: Press Windows Key + I.   System
    2. Go to Activation: Navigate to Activation in the Settings menu.
    3. Check Activation Status: Here, you should see if your Windows is activated and if it mentions a digital license linked to your Microsoft account.

If your Windows is activated and mentions a digital license, you don't need to worry about the missing product key. Your system is properly licensed and activated.

Problem with flaky Trigkey USB flash drives SOLVED.

I have a Trigkey Ryzen 7 5800H with Windows 11 Pro 24H2 (started with 23H2).  I was having difficulty with some USB flash (stick) drives.  Some of the USB flash drives would start and stop, then start again, and stop … on and on, making them unusable.

The USB flash drives, which included inexpensive and pricey drives, worked perfectly on 4 other Intel computers I own.  I did not have any problems with USB external hard drives on the AMD Trigkey, only with some USB flash drives.

SEVERAL DAYS JOURNEY TO THE SOLUTION!
After looking at the Trigkey website and getting no help, I checked Google, Edge, YouTube, and Copilot AI.

Copilot said that there were reports of Trigkey USB problems and made several suggestions.

    1. Update BIOS and chipset drives then change PCIe mode from Gen4/Auto to Gen3. However, I was not able to successfully download any BIOS or drivers from Trigkey  and kept getting diverted from Trigkey to expensive download services.  AMD said to download Trigkey drivers. Could not complete this step.

    1. Go to Device Manager, USB controllers and ports, and uncheck “Allow computer to turn off this device to save power”. I did this, but the problem remained.

The solution involved changing the USB settings in the BIOS, restarting, testing, then changing something else.  The combination that worked is shown below.

BIOS ADVANCED tab (settings that worked)

                        USB module version           26
    USB controllers: 2 XHCIs
USB Devices:                           1 Keyboard, 1 Mouse

                        Legacy USB Support   [Auto]
                        XHCI Hand-off               [Disabled]
USB Mass Storage Driver Support [Disabled]

                        USB hardware delays and time-outs:
                        USB transfer time-out    [20 sec]
                        Device reset time-out     [20 sec]
                        Device power-up delay  [Auto]

Note: I would recommend making a change in the BIOS - BOOT tab,
change Setup Prompt Timeout to 7 (not the default 1)
to allow more time to press the delete key to get into the BIOS on Startup.

  • @Michael Johnson Great feedback and descriptions that might help. Trigkey team won't read it, too bad. However, transmitting these recommendations to support could possibly influence a modification of the original BIOS. Regards.
