If you use Windows, in the settings, check that the microphone is selected and how it works. For drivers, updating with Driverscloud is recommended. https://www.driverscloud.com/en
Thanks. I chose the microphone as the input in Windows Sound Setting. I also reinstalled the driver. The issue is still there.
Maybe just a headphone output?... Could you try an USB adapter to be able to use the mic? 
I guess so. I now go with a Bluetooth headset as the workaround.
@Jack Chen Could you please explain the process you used to make your microphone work with blutooth? I have the same problem with a Maono USB lapel mic that actually turns the computer completely off every time I plug it in and I have to wait for 2 minutes before the computer comes back on.
