AMD 1-2757 - no sound

  • Got a S5 5500U and the sound has stopped working.

AMD 1-2757 is the default device.

Realtek speakers saying "not plugged in"

Microsoft support pointed me to here, stating the AMD 1-2757 is working but the Trigkey driver is not compatible with my hardware and thus no sound.

I've checked the Support option and found the Drivers section, (i've noticed the 5500 and 5560 seem to be the same download) and downloaded the driver file.

It contains a whql-amd-software-adrenalin file, AMD Sensor Fusion Hub, AMD PCI_1.0.0.80 and 20220908_ files.

The tutorial is not clear on what to do with these and they don't seem to relate to my AMD 1-2757 problem.

Never had to go down this route before so not impressed by Trigkey so far.

  • Hi David. Please, try to update all the PC drivers. Use https://www.driverscloud.com/en

This solution doen't install nothing on your computer. It's full safe. It will search every update for all PC's component, motherboard, graphics, sound etc. I personaly use it regularly with all my personal or professional computers. Trust me!

  • Thanks for that.

Installed Driverscloud and ran it and installed all the drivers it offered me.

Unfortunately it didn't resolve my sound issue, still showing amd 1-2757 active and Realtek speakers "not plugged in" so no sound. I did try restarting the PC as well, no joy.

Would be nice to see Trigkey tech support on here?

  • @David Sheridan

When the forum opened I note the following :-

The TRIGKEY forum will be officially released on June 28, 2023. Customers are welcome to speak up, and we will definitely do our best to answer your questions.

My issue has been on here for 3 - 4 days and I see no sign of tech support showing up.

I'll certainly never buy another Trigkey PC again.

  • @David Sheridan I am sorry that drivers update don't solve your problem. Otherwise, do the computer runs correctly?

  • Another issue with Trigkey driver updates.

The 4 files listed above, reading the driver update tuturial it states going into the Device Manager finding the driver you want to update and selecting the option to update from the file downloaded onto your PC.

Can't really do this as it's not clear what the driver updates are for so how do you know to update which component in Device Manager? More helpful info from Trigkey would be beneficial.

  • Yes, PC runs correctly but with no sound.

  • I download and install all updates offered by Driverscloud. I do this from the first minutes of use for any type of PC: tablets, mini PCs etc. Restart the computer when prompted. These include motherboard drivers, network drivers, and audio and graphics drivers. Here, the sound goes via HDMI to my TV screen.
You say: "so how do you know to update which component in Device Manager" Does this mean that yellow exclamation points persist?
In the Windows sound settings, are the audio outputs correctly selected? Have you made any changes to your bios? Good luck.

  • These are the 4 driver files I see being offered to S5 5500U owners :-

whql-amd-software-adrenalin file, AMD Sensor Fusion Hub, AMD PCI_1.0.0.80 and 20220908_ files.

I checked every sub topic within Device Manager, I can see no 'yellow exclamation marks' to indicate what drivers to update?

Don't have enogh knowledge to change the Bios.

Sound just disappeared, I presume after a Windows update, there have been quite a few lately.

I also presume Trigkey is not keeping up with these Windows updates, hence my problem .... but I don't see anyone else complaining.

I emailed support@trigkey yesterday, Saturday, so hoping for an update tomorrow?

  • Just ran Driverscloud again, it's offering me a lot of Win 10 drivers.

I'm using Windows 11, should I be installing these drivers?

  • YES! You should trust this updater.

  • Received the following response from Trigkey support, (added to assist anyone else having issues).

Could you please send us a picture of SN on the bottom of the PC and a picture of purchase record?

    Here are some potential solutions:
1.Clear CMOS: please unplug the power supply and HDMI cable. Please hit the pinhole of "CLR CMOS" with a pin for about 10 seconds.Ten minutes later, plug the power supply and HDMI cable, turn on the PC again.
2.Update driver:after receiving your SN code, we will send corresponding driver file to you.

  • It seems ok, you can try it.

  • Followed instructions, no joy.

They sent me a driver via a link, which I ran, it downloaded AMD Adrenalin software which I ran.

This loaded an AMD page on my PC, which found an additional download, I tried running this but it kept running a driver check and aborting so the Install option remained. Several attempts ended up with the same result.

Update fed back to Trigkey support via email.

I must say they have been very responive.

  • Trikey support provided a link to Windows 11 software reload and a tutorial for it.

Followed the instructions, reloaded Windows 11 but still no sound.

I've used a usb hub to handle a lot of the devices plugged into my PC.

In backing up my data in prep for the Windows reload I noticed the external drive wasn't recognised when plugged into the hub. Plugged directly into the PC it was recognised.

After the Windows 11 reload I noticed the speakers were also plugged into the usb hub so I removed the speaker's usb from the hub and plugged directly into the PC and voila .... sound again.

So my usb hub has gone faulty recently causing me this thorny issue, but now resolved.

  • Arghhh! Damned USB hub! I am happy for you. 👏
